Born in 1851 in Cuckfield, Sussex.

Occupation: Innkeeper.

George married Phoebe (born in 1852 in Cuckfield, Sussex).

George is recorded in the 1881 Census living at the Rose and Crown, London, Road, Cuckfield with his wife Phoebe, 29 and children Percy, 4, Joseph, 2, and Hilda J, 10 months with two servants and a lodger.

B14 Henry BRIGDEN

Born in 1857 in Horley, Surrey. Christened on 4 July 1858 in Horley, Surrey.

Henry is recorded as residing in Horley, Surrey in 1860 and at 41 Devonshire Road, Croydon in 1881.

Henry had died by 1918, when he would have been 61.

Occupation: Farm Labourer.

On 6 March 1886 when Henry was 29, he married Lizzie Mary BRAND (D5), at the Croydon Register Office.

Lizzie Mary Brand was the daughter of James Thomas BRAND (1839-) and Susannah Margaret CURD (1840-). Lizzie was born on 17 June 1862 in Farnborough, Kent. She was christened on 31 August 1862 in Farnborough, Kent. She was residing at 42 Widmore Road, Bromley, Kent in 1881, where she was a servant, aged 18 to a Mrs. Francis Annie Pettitt; and at 7 Ivy Cottages, Whitehorse Road, Croydon in 1885.

Lizzie Mary had died by 1918, when she would have been 55.

Her Birth Certificate gives her name as Elizabeth Mary but she was known as 'Lizzie'. Her mother Susannah signed the birth certificate with a mark.

Henry is recorded in the 1861 Census living at the Railway Lodge, Horley with his parents at the age of 11 months.

He is recorded in the 1881 Census living in Devonshire Road, Croydon with parents at the age of 22.

Henry like his son, worked on a Farm in South Croydon.

B15 George Thomas BRIGDEN

Born in 1861. Christened on 17 November 1861 in Horley, Surrey.

Occupation: Corn Miller.

About 1872 when George Thomas was 16, he married Elizabeth. She was born in 1831 in Crewkerne, Somerset.

They had one child:

George (1872 Penge, Surrey -)
Occupation: Labourer.

George is recorded in the 1881 Census, aged 48, living at 7 Wells Terrace, Lewisham, Kent with wife Elizabeth, 50 and son George, 19.
