Robert CHAPMAN is the earliest ancestor that has been traced.

He was born in 1758 in Midhurst, Sussex.

On 12 August 1783 when Robert was 25, he married Mary BULL, in Allhollows, Sussex.

Mary Bull was the daughter of Thomas BULL (about 1737-) and Sarah BARBER (about 1740-) She was born in 1762 and christened on 15 August 1762 in Allhollows, Sussex.

They had the following children:

C2 Robert (1781 Midhurst-)

Charlotte (1787 Cocking -).
