F1 William GREEN
Born about 1816. William was a Farm Bailiff. About 1836 when William was 20, he married Fanny JEANES. She was born about 1817. They had one child:
F2 Edward GREEN Born in 1837 in Piddletrenthide, Dorset. Recorded residing at 21 Surrey Street, Croydon in 1861, 6 Oak Terrace, Riddlesdown Road, Croydon in 1881; and at 9 Purley Road, Croydon in 1891. Occupation: Carpenter. On 8 July 1861 when Edward was 24, he married Mary Ann QUITTENTON, at Croydon Registry Office, George Street, Croydon.
They had the following children:
Edward is listed in the 1891 Census living at 9 Purley Road, Croydon at age of 53 with wife Mary, 50, and children Elizabeth, 14, Richard, 10, Lilly, 7 and James 4. The birthplaces of his children indicate that he probably moved around the country seeking work as a carpenter, as he worked in Kent, Surrey, Derbyshire and Hampshire at various times. Edward died in 1929, at the age of 92. He was buried in 1929 in Plot 14071, Mitcham Road Cemetery Croydon. E J Morgan of South End, Croydon, arranged his funeral. ".. a polished elm coffin, brassed handles, lid ornaments and name plate .. Three carriages and pairs." The funeral cost £22.00.
